Year: 2014-2015
Size: Various
Material: Oil paint on MDF surrounded by plastic
This series consists of six works, three of them depict Kings and three depict Gods. The core idea of 'If the Kings are in heaven then the Gods might be dead' is simply that society seems to replace and uplift Kings to a Godly status. Thus the border between Kings and Gods becomes blur, which alerts our consciousness towards time bound media. This consciousness of time and media is suggested to the viewer by the use of plastic bottle parts which is a very recyclable material in the art world, and also trough the voyeuristic shapes in which the works are constructed.
