Broken is a single work in which, just like in the series 'Wreckage' and 'Ruins', the theme 'creation and destruction' is being questioned. This questioning is partly done by using a piece of wreckage, more specific a piece of a damaged black kitchen panel on which a broken glass motif is painted. The tension between creation and destruction is even more highlighted by having the panel attached in a custom made frame, this elevates the piece of kitchen wreckage, thus questioning and blurring the 'lines' and 'rules' of creation and thereby destruction.
